Stress Awareness Month
Stress Awareness Month has been held every April, since 1992 to increase public awareness about both the causes and cures for our modern stress epidemic. This year the theme is all about connectivity, certainty and control.
It hasn’t exactly been a great year for stress all round, so as a leader and champion of wellbeing we want to do everything possible to help this month feel a little more stress-free!
Alongside joining our community in the 30 Day Challenge, here are 4 things you can do to take part in this year’s Stress Awareness Month:
1. Talk
talking about stress and it’s effects openly and freely is one of the best things we can do to reduce the stigma with stress. We are always here and ready to talk to you, so come and say hi! Why not book a 10 minute zoom call with Laura (Customer Experience Manager) or Beth (Lead Instructor), or join our community conversation online >.
2. Share
sharing your coping mechanisms might benefit someone you care about and in the meantime it might help you take your focus off your own challenges. We have a range of series you might find helpful when things feel too much – check out our anxiety relief series or meditation & mindfulness tips here.
3. Be Nice
to those who are stressed and anxious. We are all undoubtedly going to experience stress and anxiety in our lifetime so treat others going through stress with compassion and empathy.
4. Look after yourself
we all need to think more about self –care. Take time out of your day to relax or do something that you enjoy. Don’t forget to exercise and eat well, even when you feel too stressed. Try a yin class, gong bath or meditation.
