Program Lead: Beth Crivelli
In 2011, disenchanted by my fashion career, I decided to swap luxury rags for sweaty shorts to become a Bikram yoga teacher. I have been fully committed to teaching yoga full time since then. Throughout my years of teaching and practicing different styles of yoga, I realised the magnitude of what yoga truly is - a physical, spiritual and ethical practice.
I have since trained in Jivamukti Yoga, Vinyasa flow, Prenatal yoga and taken a number of anatomy courses. As well as teaching yoga to the general public, I specialise in teaching bespoke private yoga sequences. I am currently training in yoga therapy with Yogacampus.
Throughout my years of teaching, I have come to realise the extent to which we all have different bodies and life experiences, making each individual unique. Yoga, in all its aspects, is a path to balance therefore I incorporate different asana sequences into my classes and include Sanskrit chanting, meditation, Nidra and breathing exercises.
Yoga continuously challenges you, changes and shapes you in ways you will not believe. The practice of yoga is a harmonising self-study, which helps to align one with inner and outer peace, as well as the earth and all its inhabitants.
Senior Guest Instructor: Emily Desmond
Emily has a background in dance, which originally led her to explore yoga in high school. Yoga healed her chronic back pain due to scoliosis and helped her build a more peaceful and accepting relationship with her body. Since she began teaching in 2006, Emily has continued to seek out additional training from some of the leading yoga instructors nationwide. She has experience as a yoga studio manager, a teacher training lead and has worked as a teacher for corporations, private studios and private clients for the past 11 years.
Emily has her Master’s Degree in counselling and has been trained to utilize yoga as a medium to heal trauma, stress, anxiety, and depression. She has experience teaching yoga to kids and adults of all ages. She currently works as a performance coach for yoga teachers and entrepreneurs and a counselling consultant for high school students and their families.
As an instructor, Emily is dedicated to her students’ growth and well-being. In her classes, she seeks to create a safe, centered and joyful atmosphere leaving her students with calm minds, open hearts, and inspired spirits.
The intention behind our teacher training is to empower its participants with the knowledge base, support and confidence to teach upon completion. Not just that!! We will teach you how to teach, refining your speaking skills as well as developing sincere listening skills for a meaningful connection to your students.
Our teacher training is interactive, experiential and transformative. During our asana labs we will explore postures, physical assists, modifications and alignment in great detail. We will cover major injuries and diverse populations so that you feel ready to teach to a wide-range of students after the training.
Here what our students have to say!
“Very thorough programme, amazing facilitators that really encouraged and cared for our progress and really wanted us to succeed. "
“The training has been an amazing experience and I feel confident that I have learnt enough to go straight into teaching. "
“It is professional. Inspirational and packed with theory, practice and community spirit. I felt empowered and would do it again! Amazing TT. Well organised and thought through."
“It's been amazing in every way! The teachers, the teaching, the contents and the group were all amazing!"
“I believe what sets this training apart from others is the sense of heart that has gone into it - from the writing of the manuals, the planning of activities, the mediation and personal growth activities....Emily and Beth are a dream team and I felt constantly supported and carried through this training. I felt safe, I felt secure, which allowed me to abandon my fears and doubt and embrace it."
“I would not hesitate to recommend this teacher training to anyone thinking of becoming a yoga teacher, the teaching and materials provided were of a very high standard throughout and there was a big emphasis on practice teaching which is essential for anyone thinking of becoming a yoga teacher."
“The training had an academic depth and rigour from Beth, so knowledgeable in so many areas of yoga and living a more conscious life.. But beyond that, it brought you further into the Sadhana Community, enabling you to deepen your own practise."
'It has been a fantastic experience on many levels and even if someone doesn’t aspire to teach, it still provides a wonderful opportunity for personal development"
