Ashtanga
Ashtanga Yoga is a flowing style of yoga developed in the 20th century. It involves synchronizing breath with progressive and continuous postures, which produces internal heat.
The ultimate purpose of the Ashtanga practice is purification of the body and mind. By moving mindfully and powerfully, mind and body can connect through breath.
This sequence is open and therefore all levels are welcome.
“Ashtanga” literally means “eight limbs” and refers to the eight limbs of yoga detailed in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. These limbs describe various stages of a holistic yoga practice, from lifestyle to enlightenment, encouraging you to take the practice off the mat and into your everyday life.
